Prescription Medication

Now maybe it stems from the fact that I have never been prescribed any drugs by a doctor, but what the hell is going on with prescription drugs. It seems like I am the only one not walking around stoned on some drug hustled by some drug dealing doctor. I have seen more people high on prescription drugs as of late than I ever saw stoned on street drugs in my bartending days.

After having to deal with Kelly's episode a few months back, I began to talk to people about my experience with her suicide attempt and her addiction to alcohol and drugs. In those conversations I am learning just how many people are having problems with drug addiction, and I am not talking about cocaine, crack, or heroine, I am talking about Prozac, klamasapan (dont really know how to spell it), Xanax the list goes on. Why are we allowing our doctors to prescribe such crazy drugs that obviously do so much harm? Why are we allowing drug lobbyists to control the government, so more drugs get sold and more lives get messed up? I mean if you give someone who is obviously suffering from some sort of mental illness a whole bottle of drugs, and tell them, take one tablet 4 times a day, but instead they take a handful once a day until the bottle is gone, WHO'S FAULT IS THAT? Surely this is not the patient's fault. The doctor has acknowledged their problem, and has chosen to drug the patient rather than deal with the sickness, and has sent that patient out into the worl, high as a kite, hoping they wont kill themselves or others.

Where does DUE DILLIGENCE come in when it comes to prescription drugs. I fail to see how any of these doctors who prescribe these drugs are excercising due dillengence, and therefore, in my opinion, are guilty of a wide range of offences. Since when did we, as a society, start to believe that a mental health patient has the capacity to administer their own medication? THIS IS FUCKED UP

I am no lawyer. I am no doctor. Hell I am just an idiot most of the time, but I think all the doctors, lawyers, politicians, and drug lords out there need to give their fucking heads a shake. Or someone needs to call Tony Saprano and see if he can do it for us. Because it sure doesnt look like the Cops, or the Courts know how to deal with the BIG TIME DRUG DEALERS.
